Girls soccer
Thanks to the continued solid play of the back - including Caitlin Peters, Hanna LaRochelle, Mackenzie Miller and Sarah Viehl - the Salem girls soccer team defeated Manchester Memorial 2-0 to advance to the Class L semifinals. Liz Edgerton netted the game's first goal on an assist from Peters, and Kayla Provenzano put an insurance tally away in the second half on a nice corner kick that she bent in.

Getting to work early
Salem soccer junior Bridget Klecan scored in the first minute and the Blue Devils made it stand up for the remaining 79 minutes of a 1-0 win at Manchester West.
Read More »Cassie Chase scored twice to lead Salem to a 5-1 win over Alvirne. Gina Rigin, Amanda Vaudreuil and Jersey Burns also scored for the Blue Devils and Sarah Snyder made two key saves at a time that the game was still in doubt.
