Bukowski leads way

 

Paige Bukowski won three individual events and was the all-around winner with a fine score of 37.1 to lead Andover to a 139.6-137.8 victory over Central Catholic and the regular season MVC large school title with anoverall record of 7-1. Maddy Francis was second in all-around for the Warriors. The MVC league meet will be Thursday at A2 gymnastics in Salem.

Hillies go undefeated

The Haverhill gymnastics team completed an undefeated regular season (8-0) and won the MVC regular season title with a 135.3-128.05 win over Methuen. Maren Eramo put up an impressive 36.15 to win the all-around, highlighted by a 9.45 in the vault.

Kelley, Central take two

Meaghan Kelley won the beam (9.35), tied for first in the bars and took the all-around (34.8) to help Central Catholic beat Methuen (134.5-130.1) and Dracut (134.5-122.75). Raider Dylan Hale won the vault and tied Kelley in the bars. The Rangers' Adiamis Ramos won the floor exercise and was second in the all-around.

Historic win for Hillies

After earning the program's first win over Central Catholic last week, the surging Haverhill gymnastics team earned it's first-ever win over Andover, beating the Warriors 135.5-132.7. The score was a new meet-record for the Hillies, breaking their mark of 134.85 set earlier in the season. Maren Eramo ran away with the all-around (35.75), as the Hillies used a 1-2-3 in the floor (Eramo, Alex Auguste and Jenna Dutton) to fuel the win.

Milestone victory

Maren Eramo won every event, including a meet-clinching 9.3 in the floor exercise as Haverhill beat Central Catholic 132.85-132.35. It was the Hillies' first victory over Central in the four-year history of the program, according to coach Melanie Tarbox.

Andover uses depth

 

Methuen's Adiamis Ramos won two individual events and was the all-around winner but Andover's depth was the difference in a 132.8-131.1 win in coed gymnastics. Maddy Francis won the floor exercise for the Warriors and was thr all-around runner-up while Matt Campbell was the winner in the vault with a 9.4 score.

Maren Eramo won the all-around with a 34.35 as Haverhill placed first in a tri-meet with 130.3 points, topping Tewksbury (121.9) and Lowell (120.45).

With Andover trailing Central Catholic by the slimmest of margins, the Warriors needed a 9.0 score in the final event, the floor exercise, and captain Sarah Williams delivered with a winning score of 9.15. That gave Andover a narrow 136.35-136.25 win in a battle of unbeatens. Andover's Maddie Quill, who was first in the bars, was the all-around winner with a 35.5.

Ramos reaches new heights

Sophomore co-captain Adiamis Ramos put together her best performance of the year for Methuen gymnastics, placing first in three of four events and first in the all-around (33.85) to lead the Rangers to a tri-meet sweep of Lowell and North Andover. Methuen's score of 129.95 was its best of the year.

Salem aces Senior Night

The Salem gymnastics team scored a season-best 125.3 on senior night to finish behind only Bedford during a meet Friday night. Kasey Hartmann took first in the floor (9.4) and third in the all-around (32.85), while Sydney Bartlett placed first on the beam (9.1) and third on the floor (9.15). Freshman Vanesa Aiello had a third-place finish on the vault with an 8.15.

Isabella back strong

Out for a couple weeks, eighth-grader Isabella Lundgren returned for Haverhill gymnastics and placed on the beam with a 7.9 in a win over Lowell. Lone Hillie senior Sarah Cowley had a fantastic senior night, putting together her best performance of the year on the beam (8.3) and the floor (8.25) while placing first in the all-around (31.35).
