North Andover falls to Wilmington

Isabelle Comerford won at first singles 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, and the first doubles team of Jess Langston and Tina Gichana won 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, but it wasn't enough as North Andover girls tennis fell 3-2 to Wilmington in a tightly contested Division 2 North First Round match. The Scarlet Knights wrap up the season 12-5.

Windham girls tennis stuns Portsmouth to win first state championship

BEDFORD — Portsmouth girls tennis had been a juggernaut, easily defeating all comers during the regular season, and Thursday afternoon the Clippers were heavily favored to cap off their perfect season with a championship victory over a Windham team they had already beaten 8-1.

Windham, which had never advanced past the quarters before, drubbed No. 3 Souhegan, 8-1, to charge into the Division 2 finals. Natalie DeByle and Jennifer Thibodeau won at first and second singles, respectively, and at first doubles. The two teams split 5-4 matches in the regular season but Souhegan was shorthanded for this one.
