In a rare night match, Andover beat Marblehead 3-1. It might have been 4-1 but the lights went out in Marblehead so the final match was called. Rachel Holzman played a fine match to win at No. 2 singles.

Yuri Kim won the final match 7-5, 7-6 (7-3). Her blistering forehand winner clinched her match at third singles and the match for North Andover, which topped Haverhill 3-2.

Lucille Sirois won 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 3 singles in the day's decisive match to lead Haverhill 3-2 over Chelmsford. 

Madeline Scovotti came back at No. 2 singles, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, in the deciding match of the day to lead Haverhill 3-2 over Methuen in girls tennis. 

Paige Webster lost a hard-fought, three-set battle at third singles in Andover's season-opening 3-2 tennis loss to Lincoln-Sudbury, the only defeat the Warriors had suffered to date. In yesterday's rematch, Webster shook off a first-set loss and rolled to a pair of 6-1 victories for the deciding point as Andover prevailed, 3-2.

Pelham girls tennis avenged a season-opening loss to Sanborn in style, romping to an 8-1 victory. Allyson Masson and Mary Hammar stepped up to contribute three wins for the Pythons.

Ashley Hammar, filling in at third singles, won her first varsity match in straight sets in North Andover's 5-0 shutout of Lowell.

Pelham blanked Wilton-Lyndeboro 9-0 and a highlight was Jenny Marcoux-Taylor Foulds winning their exibition match 8-4.

Three matches went into tiebreakers, two in doubles and one singles match, and Laconia won all three to take its first victory of the year, 6-3 over Pelham.

Playing in his first career varsity tennis match, freshman Brian Nop brought home a victory at fourth singles as part of Greater Lawrence's 7-0 shutout of Fellowship Christian.

Methuen's Karmen Chau (No. 1 singles), Tami Nguyen (2) and Lina Nguyen (3) all won their singles mattches to lead the Rangers 3-2 over Central Catholic in girls tennis.

Freshman Boo Torrisi won in her first ever high school singles match to lead Pentucket girls 4-1 over Amesbury. Torrisi took her No. 3 singles match 4-6, 6-4, 6-0. 

The final score had North Andover girls tennis handing Chelmsford its first loss, 5-0, but the match was far from cut and dried as the shutout score shows.

Four of the five matches went to three sets and two of those matches involved tiebreakers.

Supported by steady play from the first doubles pairing of Jena Ranzo and Heather Pearson, Haverhill girls tennis rolled to a 4-1 victory over Central Catholic.

After losing three straight 3-2 tennis matches to start the year, Pentucket was not about to let another tight one slip away. Behind comeback efforts from Taylor Aulson at third singles as well as the doubles team of Boo Torrisi and Beebe Jackson, the Sachems downed Amesbury, 4-1.
