Wesolowski wins 600

Paige Wesolowski  won the 600 meter in 1:43.06 to help Pentucket girls to a fourth-place team finish at the CAL track meet.

The Sachems had several second-place finishes, including Ali Attenasio in the 55 meter hurdles (9.31), Marissa Porter in the 600 (1:43.50) and Marisa Lundy, Colleen Kilian, Tori Spofford and Charlotte Merritt in the 4x200 relay (1:56.33).

Tilley takes second

Windham's Kristen Tilley took second in the 600 (1:41.79) at the Dvision 2 state meet. She was the top local girls finisher. 

Three other local females placed: Sanborn's Emily Richard was fourth in the 1,000 (3:14.75) while Pelham's Shaylyn Harrington took fifth (3:15.34). Windham's Kate Farrell took sixth in the 3,000 (11:17.56).

Londonderry girls take second

Londonderry girls track finished second at the Division 1 state meet — an improvement from its sixth-place finish last year. 

The Lancers received second-place individual finishes from Kristen Bourque (Londonderry in the 300 (41.56), Amanda Szymanski in the 600 (1:36.95), Morgan McGrath in 1,000 (3:04.85) and 2. Patty Driscoll in the shot put (34-3.75).

Anchors Away

Anchor Gina D'Alelio came from behind to win the 4x400 relay by two yards to give North Reading a 48-38 win over Hamilton-Wenham. D'Alelio also won the 600 and Kerri-Ann Donovan ran on the relay and won the 300.

Personal best

Ali Attenasio won the 40 yard dash in a personal best 6.47 and also won the shot put (27-9) to help Pentucket track (7-2) clinch at least a share of the CAL Division I championship.

Freshmen Julia McLaughlin (shot put) and Mikeala Sloney (high jump) were individual winners as Haverhill was edged by Chelmsford, 44-42.

MVC Champs!

After winning CAL titles three times in tjhe last four years, North Andover made the jump to the MVC and clinched another title yesterday with a 59-27 win over Haverhill. Courtney Green threw a career best 35-10 in the shot, Catherine Flaherty a career best 5-0 in teh shot put. Deidrde Martyn came from behind in the final 30 meters to win a huge matchup with Jackie Solimine in the 1,000.

Pentucket's Molly Smith, Rachel Perry, Chase Marcotte and Ali Attenasio took second place in the shuttle hurdle relay (31.52) at the Division 3 Relays while also breaking a school record that was set back in 2001.

North Andover takes Division 2 relays

North Andover eaned victories in the shut put relay with a 101-0, besting No. 2 Central Catholic (89-1 1/2) as the Scarlet Knights placed first overall as a team at the Division 2 state relays with 29 points. Members of the winning relay were Courtney Green, Katie McManus and Alexandra Layne. Leading the Raiders was a second in the sprint medley relay in 4:22.08, run by Maggie Carey, Erin Dwinell, Taylor DePalo and Alexa Poulin.

Pentucket's Tori Spofford ran a personal best to win the 300 (49.92), then was a part of the winning 4X400 team, which posted a PR of 4:34.32, and also included Marisa Lundy, Kristin Fitzgerald and Paige Wesolowski.
