GEORGETOWN — Winning is all about timing, and unfortunately for the No. 16 seed Georgetown, yesterday’s 5-3 loss to the No. 25 seed Weston was the result of a half-inning of counter-clockwise play.

GEORGETOWN — Ordinarily, winning a lopsided tournament opener like this, 21-2 over Madison Park yesterday afternoon in the Division 3 North preliminary round, is not much of a benefit. After all, it’s no way to keep your skills sharp for the more competitive games coming up.

Sarah Erlandson excelled at pitching (two-hitter with 14 strikeouts) and hitting (three hits and an RBI) in Georgetown's commanding 11-2 triumph over Manchester Essex.

Sarah Erlandson pitched a nifty two-hitter, striking out 13, as Georgetown stopped North Andover's six-game win streak with a 5-3 victory. The Royals rallied with three runs in the seventh on RBI hits by Taylor Nelson, Cally O'Connor and Hannah Birnie.  

Sarah Erlandson fired a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts and Taylor Nelson hammered a three-run homer to lift Georgetown past Ipswich 8-2.

Georgetown junior Sarah Erlandson threw a one-hit gem, striking out 16 in a 6-0 win over Pentucket. Cally O'Connor had three RBIs for the Royals (6-3) and Erlandson (2 for 3) also knocked in a run.

Sarah Erlandson fired a no-hitter and whiffed 15 batters in Georgetown's 3-0 whitewashing of Triton. She walked three batters in her second no-hitter of the spring. Cally O'Connor, Hannah Birnie and Kassie Barba drove in the runs.

Pitching must run in the Erlandson family. Sisters Sarah and Jane Erlandson combined for a no-hitter in Georgetown's 12-1 drubbing of Manchester Essex. Star junior Sarah threw four innings, while freshman Jane finished off the final three.

Georgetown junior Sarah Erlandson gave up a lone single, in the seventh inning, struck out 14 and went 4 for 4 at the plate as the Royals ripped Lynnfield 8-1. Taylor Nelson added three hits for the Royals (2-0).
