Sanborn played well enough to win its Division 2 semifinal contest against No. 1 Goffstown, but three unearned runs proved costly in a 3-2 loss at Southern New Hampshire University.

P.J. Ross slammed a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth after Caitlin Catalanotto came in to pitch in the top of the inning to end a Hollis-Brookline threat as Sanborn edged Hollis-Brookline 2-1 in the Division 2 quarterfinals Saturday.

Sanborn's Madi McLellan came within one out of throwing a no-hitter in yesterday's 3-0 win over Portsmouth, shutting down the Clipper lineup before giving up a bloop hit with two outs in the seventh. Regardless, McLellan still got the shutout and struck out 10 on the day.

Erin Thompson, Ellery Rasmussen and P.J. Ross all hit home runs in Sanborn's 15-5 win over Pembroke. Thompson was 2-for-5 with 3 runs and 5 RBIs, Rasmussen was 3-for-5 with a run and 4 RBIs and Ross was 3-for-5 with 3 runs and 4 RBIs.

Madi McLellan threw a five-hitter, striking out 14 without walking a batter as Sanborn (10-3) clipped Oyster River 8-1.

Juniors Ellery Rasmussen and Kaitlyn Laliberte had home runs as Sanborn clipped Portsmouth 7-2. 

Jaime Cleasby threw a brilliant one-hitter, striking out eight and walking just one as Windham slipped past Sanborn 2-0. Olivia Estes was 2 for 3 and scored a run for the Jaguars (9-2).

A long blast over the left field fence by P.J. Ross proved the difference as Sanborn nipped Pelham 6-5. For the Pythons, Sarah Ratcliffe was 3 for 3 with a home run and scored twice.

Caitlin Catalanotto had a solo home run and two RBIs and was the winning pitcher as Sanborn remained unbeaten (6-0) with an 8-4 win over Portsmouth. Erin Thompson and Ellery Rasmussen were both 3 for 4 and combined for five RBIs.
