One night after collecting his 1,000th career point, Phllips Academy senior Tom Palleschi recorded a double-double with 20 points and 21 rebounds during the Big Blue's 53-46 win over St. Sebastian.Palleschi also had five blocks.

Phillips 71, Thayer Academy 64

Tom Palleschi notched his 1,000th career point during a 15-point effort as Phillips got past Thayer, 71-64. Brendan O'Connell hit a trio of 3-pointers on his way to a  team-best 18 points. Ryan Hartung added 17 for the 7-10 Big Blue.

Upset of the century?

Even as just a near upset, its a game that will shock the prep basketball world. Phillips Academy threw a mighty scare into Tilton, the No. 4 team in the country in the SI.com/5-Star poll, before falling 66-62. Haverhill's Ryan Hartung scored 16 points and Brendan O'Connell of Andover had 14 points, and the two combined for seven 3-pointers. Haverhill's Tom Palleschi added 12 points (he now has 997 for his career) and eight rebounds for the Big Blue.

Haverhill's Tom Palleschi was a monster under the boards for Phillips Academy yesterday, pulling down 16 rebounds to reach 1,000 rebounds for his career in a 66-57 victory over Milton Academy. He also had 14 points, 3 blocks and 5 assists.

Phillips breaks ice

 

Phillips Academy won its first boys basketball game of the season, 50-44 over Loomis Chaffee, thanks to an effective inside-outside. Haverhill's Tom Palleschi did the work inside with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 blocks while Haverhill's Ryan Hartung and nine  combination and LaVaron Sylvester combined for five 3-pointers and 25 points. Sylvester also had five steals.
