SALEM —  On the second play from scrimmage, Dom Paci bolted 63 yards to paydirt and Salem cruised from there to a dominating 42-0 win over Alvirne.

The Blue Devils (5-0), who are the No. 1 team in the Union Leader-WMUR statewide poll, wouldn't be denied.

Adam Maroun scored three times, one a 15-yard pass from Matt Soldano. Brother Josh Maroun also scored. Brandon Wall capped the scoring in the third quarter with a 22-yard run and then added his first PAT of the season.

The Blue Devil rushing attack gouged the 1-4 Broncos with Paci (5-119), Adam Maroun (11-90) and Josh Maroun (9-88) finding huge holes to run through.

Junior Jared White had several decleating blocks. Senior linebacker Ben Genest had another monster game. Senior Aidan Holland picked off a pass for the second week in a row. Senior lineman Brady Keenan also came up big on defense.

Coach Rob Pike said, "Offensively, we did what we do. We ran the ball well. The defense played real well. We played hard and we tackled well."

Salem has earned a lot of much deserved praise and the Blue Devils have handled it well.

Pike said, "We address those things. What we have to do is play. You don't win by just showing up. Anything can happen. So far we've done a very good job of taking care of business."

Returning Eagle-Tribune offensive MVP Josh Sibanda sat out again.

As for his status, Pike said, "We really don't know, but he had his MRI today."

Salem is at Bishop Guertin next Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The Cardinals dropped to 1-4 with Friday's 49-13 loss at Pinkerton.
