Sanborn fell behind by 16 points in the first quarter, and could not recover on the way to falling to Hollis-Brookline 23-12 in the New Hampshire Division 2 quarterfinals.
"I am still very proud of what this team accomplished this year," said Indians coach John Welch. "I am thrilled with the way we improved every week."
After falling behind 16-0, Sanborn cut the lead when star back Zach Matthews scored a 1-yard touchdown.
"That score gave us some momentum," said Welch. "But then we allowed a touchdown right before halftime that really hurt."
The Indians managed one last rally when Christian Ehlers connected with Mike D'Amelio on a 55-yard touchdown pass in the third. But that was as close as Sanborn would get.
Defensive lineman Ryan Rose led the Indian defense with help from linebackers Matthews and Scott Jenkins.
"I feel like we played a good game, but just couldn't make a few plays down the stretch," said Welch. "But this is a great group that has grown a lot since Aug. 13."
