Senior  Jake Zanazzi of Andover pitched three innings of two-hit, no earned run ball and Phillips (20-2) wrapped up its season with a 15-2 shellacking of archrival Exeter. Joe Simourian had two hits, three runs and three RBI.

Redfern lifts Phillips to Prep crown

Phillips blanked archrival Exeter, 8-0, to capture the New England Prep League Tourney title. Anthony Redfern fired a two-hitter with seven strikeouts. 

Andrew Ciufo drove in two runs, scored twice and collected two hits. Jackson Emus and Lucas Stowe also had two hits apiece.

Emus delivers

Princeton commit Jackson Emus tossed a complete-game three-hitter with nine strikeouts to lead Phillips to a 3-1 win over previously one-loss St. Sebastian (11-2). Phillips moved to 16-2 with the win.

Phillips 2, Deerfield Academy 1

Anthony Redfern came on in relief to get the last five outs of Game 1 and went the distance in Game 2 to lead Phillips to a sweep of Deerfield (3-1 and 2-1). In Game w Redfern was dominant (2-hitter, 11 Ks, 0 BB) but it took a run in the seventh for the walk-off win. Kai Marcos singles in Jack Penney for the win. In the opener, Travis Lane had 10 Ks, including the first nine batters of the game.

Redfern still untouchable

Anthony Redfern tossed another complete-game gem on just 77 pitches with seven strikeouts as Phillips beat rival Exeter in Game 2 of a double-header 4-1. The one run he allowed was unearned. That was the first runner he allowed to cross home plate in 27.1 innings pitched this season.

Lane ignites outburst


Georgetown's Travis Lane had five RBIs including three ona home run in the top of the seventh to ignite Phillips Academy to seven runs with two outs to pull away for an 11-4 win over Groton. The Big Blue improved to 11-1.
