The Knights captured the CAL meet at Wilmington for the seventh straight time, and 10th time in the last 11 years by scoring 205 points. Masconomet was second (170) and Lynnfield/North Reading (138) came in third.

Pentucket dominates North Andover

North Andover dominated Pentucket 59-15 to run its record to 16-5 on the season. The Scarlet Knights got strong perfomances at 125 pounds by Jim Connolly who won by pin in 1:26, Jake Monroe who won at 135 by pin in 1:45, and Jared Hood who won at 145 by pin in 1:31.

Dan Gionet tournament

Whittier showed its best depth of the season and came away with the title at the 10-team Dan Gionet tournament in Pelham. The Wildcats didn't crown one champion, but they had eight placers, led by runners-up Garret Gadd (125) and Corey Chabuz (heavyweight).

And it was a particularly good day for the Lawrence Lancers, who captured their second straight Haverhill Invitational title, rolling up 199<1/2> points to edge the runner-up Londonderry Lancers (174<1/2>) for top honors.

Pentucket tournament: Reggies surge past Lancers for crown

Despite resting five standout starters, Greater Lawrence charged into first place to win its second title in three years with 146 points, slipping past local rival and defending champion Lawrence (141<1/2>), which led heading into the final round.

Nothing can stop the Reggies

Greater Lawrence didn't have any choice so it showed its depth yesterday while capturing the Wakefield Tournament.

Despite missing four starters, including standouts Miguel Guzman and Victor Sosa, the Reggies powered their way to 191 points in the 16-team field, far ahead of runner-up Reading 150 1/2, which barely nipped Methuen 149.

Pentucket bests Salem (Mass.)

Pentucket had no trouble crushing Salem (Mass.) 66-15. The Sachems (1-2-1) recorded 11 pins, the fastest being by 189-pounder Ben Stasiuk, who needed just nine seconds to record a fall. Chris Meuse was almost as fast, needing just 20 seconds for a pin at 119.
