The unbeaten Salem softball team registered its seventh straight shutout, defeating Manchester Central 5-0, as Nicole Gubellini fired a superb 3-hitter, striking out 12. Red-hot Hannah Latham (2 for 3) keyed a five-run fourth inning for the Blue Devils (11-0) while Steph Long (2 for 3) and Rachel Morrissey also had RBI hits in the inning.

Nicole Gubellini threw a nifty two-hitter, striking out 10 without allowing a walk, as unbeaten Salem (10-0) survived Merrimack, 2-0. Gubellini also knocked in Briana Rastello for the first run with a sacrifice fly. Sam Cloutier was 2 for 3.

Kaitlyn Arsenault and starter Nicole Gubellini combined on a one-hitter while Salem ran its season-opening winning streak to nine games.

Arsenault, who earned the win with three innings of hitless ball, and Gubellini, who struck out six of the eight batters she faced,  posted Salem's fifth straight shutout.

Salem's softball team recorded its fourth straight shutout, smacking a good Merrimack club 15-0. The unbeaten Blue Devils (8-0), sho have scored 44 runs in that span, have gotten contrinbutions throughout their lineup, including from No. 9 hitter Brianna Ratello, who was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored yesterday and has five hits in the last two games. Rachel Morrissey was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Nicole Gubellini pitched five scoreless innings, striking out nine batters and giving up two hits. She also smashed a three-run homer to help Salem softball win 13-0 over Manchester Memorial.

Winning pitcher Kaitlyn Arsenault went five innings, allowing just three hits while striking out five without walking a batter, and Nicole Gubellini retired all six batters she faced as unbeaten Salem blanked Exeter 5-0.

Nicole Gubellini was in control all afternoon, tossing five innings of three-hit ball in Salem's 11-0 dismantling of Bishop Guertin, the team that knocked the Blue Devils out of the tournament last season. Amanda Baron slugged a three-run homer in the sixth inning, part of a four-RBI day for the senior.

Hannah Latham (2 for 3) and Sam Cloutier (3 for 4) both remained hot at the plate as Salem ripped 19 hits in an 18-4 victory over Nashua North.

Hannah Latham paced the unbeaten Blue Devils with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored while going 3 for 5 and Samantha Cloutier also went 3 for 5 and scored three times. Kayla Komaridis had a home run and three RBIs for Pinkerton and Natalie Fabrizio was 3 for 4 and scored twice.
