Salem High football team's rally falls short

SALEM | The Salem High football team tried its best to pull off a miracle comeback against Lynn Classical at chilly Bertram Field last night. But if it was that easy, it wouldn't be called a miracle.

After showing practically no offensive life for three quarters and falling behind by two touchdowns, Salem rallied behind running back Melikke Van Alstyne and quarterback Colby Boulay. However, Lynn Classical's Bryndyn Primus made a clutch interception with Salem driving in the final minute, preserving the Rams 14-7 Northeastern Conference win.

Gloucester squeezes past Classical thanks to wild comeback

LYNN | You can go ahead and call Friday night's football game between Gloucester and Lynn Classical the game of the year on the North Shore up to this point.

Trailing by 10 points with seven minutes to play in the game, the Fishermen completed an improbable comeback by scoring two touchdowns in the last three minutes of the game to defeat the Rams, 26-22, at Manning Field. With the victory, Gloucester remained undefeated on the season at 8-0.

Peabody no match for powerful Lynn Classical

Peabody was shut out for the second straight game in losing at Lynn Classical Friday, 40-0.

Classical quarterback Alex Watler connected with Quavari Jackson on touchdown passes of 25 and 37 yards as the host Rams (5-1) sent Peabody (1-6) to its fourth shutout of the season.
