The inside presence of junior Julio Colon made all the difference in Georgetown's 68-48 dismantling of Newburyport.

Colon, who "played like he was 6-6 instead of 6-2" according to head coach Mike Rowinski, dropped in a career-high 24 points as a worthy complement to Cape Ann League Small Player of the Year Jaymie Spears' game-high 25 points.

Not since the first two games of the year has Newburyport put together a winning streak, however, after a stout defensive effort in the third quarter holding to Assabet to only four points the Clippers walked away with their second straight win.

It was smooth sailing for Pentucket over Newburyport as Erin McNamara (15 points, 8 assists), Kirsten Daamen (14 points, 11 rebounds), and Andi Attenasio (10 points, 6 rebounds) helped the Sachems to victory. Lindsey Tomasz led the Clippers in scoring with 12 points.

The Newburyport Clippers (3-11) were unable to dig themselves out a first half hole, and Wilmington coasted to a 65-47 victory. Bruce Pollard (10 points, 3 rebounds), Nick Welch (10 points, 4 rebounds), and Pat Reynolds (2 points, 5 rebounds) all played well for the Clippers.

According to coach Tom L'Italien, Newburyport played with a lot of heart in the second half, but down 18 at halftime, it was something the Clippers needed to do for 32 minutes as the team could not fight all the way back in the loss.

Bruce Pollard tallied 15 points and three rebounds for the Clippers. Joe Clancy added 10 points and nine rebounds.

After missing a game with the flu, Joe Clancy had a monster game with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and two steals, but it was not enough to escape North Andover. Bruce Pollard also had nine points, and Nick Welch had nine rebounds.

Trailing 42-36 on the road at archrival Newburyport, Pentucket's boys had one of its best fourth quarters of the season to defeat the Clippers 58-53.

Game-high scorer Jordan Silva had eight of his career-high 26 points in the fourth quarter and Harry Shea had five of his 10 points, including a pivotal 3-pointer, in the final frame.

Joe Clancy led Newburyport (3-1) with 26 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals, and three assists. The Clippers advanced to the final of the Tanner Tournament. They will meet Marblehead tonight (8 p.m., Peabody).
