Joe Clancy led Newburyport (3-1) with 26 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals, and three assists. The Clippers advanced to the final of the Tanner Tournament. They will meet Marblehead tonight (8 p.m., Peabody).
"We talked about doing the tough things," Newburyport coach Tom L'Italien said. "All credit goes to the kids because they got the rebounds and the loose balls. They chose to do it, and it's a nice win for our program."
Nick Welch added 11 points and 12 rebounds. Tommy Morris had eight points and six rebounds. Kyle Uhlig scored eight points.
