Greater Lawrence was likely playing for a share of the CAC title, but the Reggies were denied 22-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 11-15 by Greater Lowell. Ray Rivera led the Reggies (11-5) with 19 killes while Anthony Martinez had a strong all-around match.

Central prevails

 

Greater Lawrence gave Central Catholic a battle in every game but ultimately fell to the Raiders in three games to suffer its first defeat of the season. Adam Morris led a balanced attack for Central with nine kills and three blocks while Ray Rivera had 12 kills for the Reggies (7-1).

Soaring Reggies

 

The Greater Lawrence volleyball team, in only its second year, has already surpassed last year's record (6-10) with its seventh straight win to start the season, defeating Doherty 3-1. Ray Rivera had 11 kills and Vinnie Mammola a stunning 11 blocks for the Reggies (7-0).

Year 2 Wonders

Greater Lawrence twice lost to Doherty in fuor games last year but Tuesday it was 3-0 Reggies. They were led by the all-around play of Adoni Jimenez and Vinny Mammola. The second-year Reggies are flying at 6-0 after going 6-10 in their debut season.

Reggies start strong

Greater Lawrence got a team-high eight kills from Ray Rivera and a great all-around game from Pedro Lopez (8 digs) to sweep North Andover in each team's season opener. Tyler Buonopane and Xavier Dones each had six assists to lead the Knights in their second year as a program.
