Pentucket's Wesolowski wins title

After finishing second at state last year, Pentucket’s Josh Wesolowski was determined to take it all this year and Saturday he did just that, rolling to the 132-pound Division 3 state title. He won 14-0 in the championship match after following a pin with two technical falls, improving his season record to 30-0.

Also wrestling well for the Sachems was Noah Malhi, who was third at 182.

North Reading wins again

 

North Reading/Lynnfield won the Division 3 North sectional for the third straight year, crowing three champions and getting a second.

Pentucket had champions in Josh Wesolowski and Noah Malhi and a second from Kalon Boston. Georgetown/Ipswich's Constantine Galanis lost his first match of the season, in the 152-pound finals.

Wesolowski wins again

 

Pentucket's Josh Wesolowski and North Reading/Lynnfield continued to rule the Cape Ann League/Northeast Conference meet.

For the third year in a row, Wesolowski rolled to the 132-pound title while North Reading/Lynnfield romped to the team title, collecting 186 1/2 points, which was far ahead of runner-up Danvers (121).

Lynnfield-North Reading whipped Georgetown-Ipswich 48-6 to earn its third straight CAL title. Max Robert, Austin Bradley and Nick Wilkinson had impressive pins in the romp.

Georgetown/Ipswich finished an impressive fourth at the Brookline Duals, splitting four matches on the day. Constantine Galanis remained unbeaten with four wins and Alex Manning was cited as Outstanding Wrestler for the team for his three pins at 195. Josiah Krason was 3-0 at 106.

Surprising Georgetown won four more meets, the closest being 42-39 over Gloucester, to improve to 11-3. Constantine Galanis remained unbeaten (21-0) and had four pins on the day while Henry Gorrell also went 4-0. Among those going 3-0 were Matt and Mark Mansfield.

Carsten LaPlante was the top point scorer for Georgetown/Ipswich, going 3-0 at 113, as the surprising s0-0p team won a quad meet in Watertown, nipping the host team 39-38, to improve to 7-2.
