STONEHAM — Whittier ran out of time and dropped a hard-fought 17-16 deision to Stoneham.
The Wildcats scored first on a 59-yard second-quarter run by Scott Bonneau and added a two-point run by Shane Surette to take an 8-0 halftime lead, but Stoneham scored the next 17 points, including two on a safety before Jack Cressy scored on a three-yard rush with 2:27 left in the game.
