Salem's LaRosa erupts for 37 but Lawrence prevails

LAWRENCE — Salem senior guard Alex LaRosa lit Lawrence up for 37 points, but the Lancers scored the final seven points of the game to pull out an 80-77 win in the Greater Lawrence Christmas Tourney third-place game.

Jaylen Alicea (17 points) gave Lawrence the lead with a pull-up jumper with 25 seconds left and Jose Berroa (17 points) added two insurance free throws with four seconds to play.

LaRosa's outburst was the the fifth highest total in tourney history. He also pumped in six 3-pointers, tying him for sixth on the all-time list. Joe Gallant also had a career game in defeat with 24 points and 16 rebounds.
