The second doubles team of Jose Matos and Hector Reynoso regrouped in the second set, using aggressive net play and hustle to take a three-set victory, the deciding point for Lawrence in a 3-2 win over Haverhill.

Greater Lawrence freshman Pamela Castro hot for the cycle and scored four runs as Greater Lawrence outlasted Lawrence 15-12.

The Henriquez twins came through for Lawrence volleyball as Jeyson (11 kills, 15 service points and 2 blocks) and Anibal (11 kills, 2 aces and 3 blocks) led the Lancers past Andover, 3-0.

Haverhill sophomore Josh Goldstein (4-hitter, 2Ks) outdueled Lawrence junior Joan Vargas (4-hitters. 3 Ks) in a 2-1 win. Matt Burns plated a run on a triple in the fourth then scored the game-winner on a sac fly by Ryan Perez.

Andover freshman Owen Plourde battled Lawrence standout Chen Chen for well over two hours before rallying back for a brutal 2-6, 7-5, 12-10 win at No. 1 singles to help the Golden Warriors best the Lancers 5-0.

After allowing his only hit of the game in the sixth, Lawrence's Wilmer Gomez finished off his gem in style by striking out the side in the seventh to give him 15 Ks for the day, locking down a complete-game one-hitter and an 11-0 Lancers win.

Eduardo Cartagena and Alex Cruz rallied back for a 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles, the final event of the day, to give Lawrence a 3-2 victory over Malden.
