To think, Salem middle hitter Amanda Saab played field hockey in her freshman season.
The 5-foot-11 senior notched her 500th career kill in the Blue Devils' 25-21, 26-24, 25-17 win over rival Londonderry last night.
"I always joked with her that if she had played (her freshman year) we would be celebrating 1,000 this year," said Salem coach Dan Young. "These are numbers that you just don't see often, its quite an accomplishment."
Saab tallied 19 kills last night to surpass the mark. The 2007 Eagle-Tribune All-Star has a stellar 67 kills in her last three games.
