Salem nearly pulled off an upset, falling to defending Class L champ Merrimack, 3-2.
Brian Peltz scored with three minutes remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime before the Blue Devils allowed a goal nine minutes into the extra frame.
Peter Ventola scored Salem’s first goal and Ethan Carr made nine saves in net.
