NORTH ANDOVER — Phillips ran into a buzzsaw on Saturday, falling to three-time defending NEPSAC champions Choate, 40-0.

"They're tremendous," said Phillips coach Leon Modeste, whose team dropped to 3-1. "One of the best high school football teams I've ever seen."

Choate (4-0) hasn't lost a game in quite a while. MaxPrep lists the Wild Boars as having a 33-game winning streak, the seventh-longest in the country according to the site.

"I don't see them losing this year either," said Modeste.

Choate led just 6-0 after the first, but broke the game open with a 20-point second quarter. Quarterback Joe Young threw for touchdown passes of 8, 92 and 32 yards on the day, and back Rasheed Conway rushed for two scores.

Adam Cohen and North Reading's Bobby O'Donnell led the defense with seven tackles each. Quarterback Zach Geddes had 30 yards rushing on three carries and went 4-for-8 for 32 yards through the air.
