The Haverhill softball team jumped out in front early, taking a 5-0 lead after the second inning, and pitcher Bryana Michitson took care of things from there, going the distance to help the Hillies beat Lynn Classical 6-1 in the Division 1 North First Round.
Michitson allowed one run on two hits with nine strikeouts in the win, Maddie Boucher had a pair of RBI singles, Andrea Albano had an RBI single as well, and Ashley Moore had an RBI double in the fourth to finish off the scoring.
Haverhill (13-8) is at Billerica in the North Quarterfinals on Monday at 3:45 p.m.
