Rachael Denning's goal off a corner with 6:33 left to play lifted No. 6 Salem field hockey to a 1-0 upset over third-seeded Timberlane in the Division 1 quarterfinals.
Brianna Rastello made 11 saves for Salem, which will play No. 2-seeded Winnacunnet on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Bill Ball Stadium.
"She played outstanding," Timberlane coach Mim Ryan said about Rastello. "My kids played hard. We just didn't get the bounces. It wasn't for a lack of effort."
