Elisandra Valentin took a pass, found herself wide open on the box and knocked down a jumper with 5.5 seconds left in the game to give Lawrence a 44-43 win over Dracut. The Lancers rallied back from a 13-point halftime deficit for the victory.

Trailing by nine at halftime, Kelly Sicard's stellar defense got Lawrence even with Tewksbury and Ashley Greer's all-around play earned the Lancers a 53-51 victory. Sicard had 10 steals to go with her six points and Greer (24 points) had a clutch steal and both Lawrence baskets in OT.

Kayla Pellot netted a game-high 20 points, including pouring in three 3-pointers, to lift Haverhill to a 58-54 victory over Lawrence in an MVC clash.

Lawrence posted 37 fourth quater points to overcome a 10-point deficit and edge Methuen, 79-77. 

"It was insane," said Lawrence head coach Dan Blouin.  "There was not a lot of defense in the fourth quarter.  I was fun to watch."

Nina Santiago had a double-double, scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Lawrence beat Haverhill 52-45. Santiago hit two 3-pointers during the game. Jessica Cotto led the Hillies with 11 points.

METHUEN — Pinkerton and Lowell went at it in different ways, but both routed opponents last night in the first round of the Greater Lawrence Girls Christmas Tourney at Methuen High School.

Freshman Amanda Williams recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. She also had five blocks to help Central Catholic remain unbeaten following a 63-27 win over Lawrence. Freshman Caitlin Dell'Orfano had nine points, four steals and a block.

Despite a monster game in the paint by Elisandra Valentin (7 points and 14 rebounds), Lawrence dropped a tight 49-45 verdict to Chelmsford.

Ashley Greer hit four three-pointers on her way to a game-best 18 points as Lawrence won for the second time in as many nights, this time with a 42-34 win over Notre Dame. Angelice Gonzalez had 15 pounts and 11 assists while Elisandra Valentin had 11 rebounds.
