Haverhill beat Andover 3-1 with stellar play from the Hillies defense. Peter Maranto, Alex Hussein and Steve Leszicka scored for the winners. Alex Herlich scored the Golden Warriors' lone goal. Andover keeper Mike Birecki (19 saves) put up a great effort for the Warriors.

Lawrence plays even with Warriors

Lawrence High coach Don Sheldon couldn't hold back the excitement of last night's break-through match.

"It's our best performance in two years," said Sheldon after the Lancers slugged it out to a 1-1 draw with Andover. "Everyone stepped it up in an extremely exciting game," said the coach.
