Salem Blue Devils Girls Soccer '20-'21

Windham advances to state semis

Emily Manning and Katie Durkin each scored a goal as Windham girls soccer defeated Salem 2-1 in the Division 1 quarterfinals on Sunday night.

Reagan Murray and Lauren Brooks each had an assist and Jess Thibodeau made two saves as the Jaguars (4-4-2) advanced to their first state semifinal in five years. They will travel to face Dover on Thursday. The time is TBA.

Rachel Carr scored for Salem (3-7-2), off a penalty kick in the second half.

Hinchey, Salem advance

Freshman standout Charlotte Hinchey continued her dazzling freshman season by scored twice, giving her 13 goals on the season, as Salem girls soccer defeated Manchester Memorial 3-1 in the Division 1 preliminary round. The Blue Devils will now play at Windham at 2 p.m. Sunday in the quarterfinals.

Late goal for tie

 

Windham dominated possession but needed a Lauren Brooks goal with 2 minutes left to tie Salem 1-1.  A goal a minute earlier from Windham’s Alyssa Tarabocchia was called back for offside. Freshman star Charlotte Hinchey scored Salem’s goal.
