Brooks loses heartbreaker

Earlier in the season, Hamden Hall crushed Brooks boys basketball 73-48 to hand it its first loss in 68 games. Saturday's rematch in the NEPSAC Class B semifinal went a little different. Brooks led by as much as 17 in the second half, but a key ankle injury to top scorer Tyler Whitney-Sidney helped Hamden Hall complete the 65-62 comeback. Junior Myles Foster had a career-high 25 points from Brooks, which ends its season 18-7.

Brooks back in semis

 

The Brooks boys basketball team defeated St. George's 65-43 to advance to the Class B semifinals for the eighth straight year. It will face Hamden Hall in the semifinals Saturday. Hamden Hall snapped Brooks' 68-game win streak back on Dec. 1.

Myles Foster hit the go-ahead layup with 40 seconds left to lead Brooks to a thrilling 43-42 win over Roxbury Latin. With the win, Brooks (17-6, 15-0 ISL) clinched its fifth straight undefeated season in the league.

Brooks won its fifth straight outright ISL championship after winning it only once between 1960 and 2014. Brooks secured the title with a 69-39 win over St. Mark's, completing a perfect 14-0 record in the league (16-6 overall). Senior guard Colin Khater of North Andover scored his first career points with two foul shots in the 2nd half

Brooks boys basketball posted a dominating 80-54 win over Thayer Academy to improve to a perfect 13-0 in the ISL (15-6 overall). Tyler Whitney-Sideny (19), Sam Thomson (14) and Matt Mulvey (13) were all in double figures for Brooks.

Rematch won

The Brooks boys basketball team beat Rivers, 65-55, in a rematch of last year's New England Prep Class B championship — a game Brooks won 65-40. Junior forward Myles Foster scored a season-high 13 points and added 10 rebounds in the win.

Ice, ice, Mulvey

Matt Mulvey picked a great time to score his only points of the game. With 30 seconds left, the sophomore guard drilled a 3-pointer to put Brooks ahead for good in a huge 54-50 win over Milton Academy. Both teams came into the game undefeated in league play.

With only six seconds remaining in regulation, sophomore Matt Mulvey drained his fifth 3-pointer of the night to lead Brooks to a thrilling 65-62 win over Class B rival Marianapolis Prep. Mulvey finished with a season-high 15 points.

Brooks boys basketball rallied to tie the game after trailing by as much as 15 in the second half, but Brimmer and May converted two free throws with .6 seconds left to pull out the 58-56 win. Tyler Whitney-Sidney had 24 points for Brooks (4-4).
