Phillips nips Brooks

Phillips Academy's girls soccer team, on a goal by Meghan Doherty in the first half, held on for a 1-0 win over Brooks in Class A New England prep tournament action. Brooks outshot Phillips 9-4, but Phillips goalie Alex Farrell was perfect on the day. Phillips will face Loomis-Chaffee in today's championship game at The Governor's Academy at 1 p.m.

Brooks falls

Brooks allowed a goal just 23 seconds into regulation, and was never able to recover, falling to Kimball Union 2-1 in the New England Prep Class B semifinals.

Brooks falls in heartbreaking fashion

BEVERLY — Brooks head coach Alex Konovalchik called it “one of the most difficult ways to lose a game.”

That was an understatement.

Leading Pingree 6-0 in the New England Prep Clark-Francis Bowl, Brooks was in the process of running out the clock with 2:09 left in the game.

Andover's Moschitto sets up win

With just four minutes left in the second overtime, Andover's Marina Moschitto blasted a perfect corner kick to Amelia Hammerl in front of the net, and the forward headed it in for the game-winning goal as Brooks downed Westminster 2-1 in the NEPSAC Class A quarterfinals last night.

Brooks advances

Brooks surrendered a goal at the two-minute mark of the first half, but bounced back for a 2-1 win over Williston. Christie Donovan and Chapin Duke scored for Brooks, who advance to play Thayer on Saturday (noon) at Phillips Academy in the NEPSAC semifinals.

Vozzella scoring machine keeps going

Boxford's Nick Vozzella added two more goals to his season total, helping Brooks to a 3-1 wi over St. Paul's.  Vozella now has 12 goals and two assists for the Green and White, who now wait for an invitation to the Class B Prep tourney.  On defense, North Andover's Andres Burbank-Crump had another outstanding game.

Coke's big day vaults Brooks

DEDHAM — Behind a career day by Andover's Andrew Coke, Brooks just kept rolling.

The sophomore gave his squad the lead with a sack of the QB in the end zone for a safety, and added the second score on a rushing touchdown as Brooks downed Nobles 23-0.

Abby for three

Brooks defeated Buckingham Brown and Nichols 4-1, lead by Abby Hammerl who scored her second hat trick of the season. Abby had help from her sister Amelia who scored a goal and assisted on another. Marinia Moschitto added two assists.
