Royals shut out Matignon

The Georgetown baseball team rode a pair of terrific pitching performances to an 11-0 win over Matignon in the first round of the Division 4 North tournament. Kyle Greenler struck out 10 and allowed just one hit over five shutout innings, and Jason Bellefuielle finished the job with two scoreless innings of his own. Meanwhile, Jacob Adamsky went 4 for 4 with three RBIs, and the Royals put up 13 hits in total, breaking things wide open with seven runs in the fifth inning. Georgetown (13-8) now faces top-seeded Lowell Catholic in the Division 4 North quarterfinals on Monday at 4 p.m.

Royals clinch

Georgetown baseball punched its ticket to the state tournament, beating Amesbury 8-6 to improve to 10-4 on the season. Ethan Block and Max Girouard each had two hits and two RBIs, and Kyle Greenler allowed one earned run over five innings to get the win. Amesbury was led at the plate by Derek Beaupre, who had two RBIs and scored a run.

Jacob Adamsky tossed a complete game, allowing one unearned run with seven strikeouts as Georgetown beat Ipswich 2-1. Ethan Block and Tim Chianca each had RBIs as the Royals improved to 9-4.

Georgetown broke the game open with a 10-run fourth inning, burying Rockport en route to a 13-3 win. Tim Chianca and Tommy Long each went 2 for 3, with Chianca scoring three runs with two RBIs and Long two runs, and Brendan Willis pitched five scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Georgetown pitcher Jacob Adamsky was on fire Friday, striking out 15 East Boston batters while leading his team to a 9-4 win. Max Girouard went 4 for 5 with a run and two RBIs, Brendan Willis went 3 for 5 with a run and an RBI, and Tommy Long went 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Georgetown picked up five hits in a shutout loss to North Reading. Justin Ziolkowski reached base in both his at-bats with two hits, but the Royals weren't able to score. Kyle Greenler struck out two batters in his three innings.

Royals snap skid

Georgetown baseball snapped its three-game losing streak on Saturday, pouncing on Newburyport with six runs in the first inning to pick up a 7-5 win. Brendan Willis allowed two earned runs over six innings and JP Kibbee went 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Newburyport drops to 1-7 with the loss, but pitcher Parker McLaren hung in to finish the game with only one earned run allowed over six innings. Casey McLaren also went 2 for 4 and leadoff hitter Ryan Archie was 1 for 3 with two runs scored.

Sachems pick up win

Pentucket baseball picked up its first win of the year, getting two runs in the sixth inning to beat Georgetown 2-0. Andrew Melone got an RBI off Elon commit Kyle Greenler and picked up the win after pitching two scoreless innings in relief of starter Peter Cleary, who pitched five shutout innings with six strikeouts as well.

Royals walk off

Tim Chianca hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Georgetown an exciting 4-3 extra innings win over Amesbury. Brendan Willis got the win after pitching four scoreless innings of relief, and he also hit three hits and a run scored at the plate. Amesbury got a great performance on the mound from Graham Gannett, who went seven innings and allowed one earned run while striking out three. Logan Burrill went 2 for 4 with a run and Blake Bennett had two RBIs in the first inning.

Martin steals victory

Cam Martin got hit by a pitch, stole second and third and then came around to score Georgetown's lone run on an errant throw by the catcher to help beat Hamilton-Wenham 1-0 on Saturday. Kyle Greenler had Georgetown's only hit and also picked up the win after pitching three shutout innings.
