NASHUA — “Are you ready to wrestle?”

PETERBORO, N.H. — Just a few months ago, Victor Pizzotti had no intention of trying wrestling for the first time. Now, the Windham High senior is a state champion.

It took Pizzotti just 47 seconds to scored a pin at heavyweight. That closed out a run that saw Windham win the final three weight classes after already taking three of the first four of the finals to roll to a dominant victory as a team at the New Hampshire Division 2 State Meet at ConVal High School.

Windham coach Tom Darrin won the 500th meet of his career as Windham swept a season-ending quad-meet to end the regular season at 20-11. The Jaguars were unbeaten in the first three weight classes as Payton Sills, Riley Millette and Nicholas Sawyer were all 3-0.

Timberlane tuned up for Wednesday's showdown at Concord by crushing Hollis-Brookline, Windham and Nashua South in a quad-meet to improve to 20-1. Brandon Berube had three pins at 152 and brother Justin Berube was also 3-0. Dylan Tremblay and Steven Blaisdell were both 3-0 wrestling at two weight classes.

In a battle of two unbeaten Div.s 2 teams in New Hampshire, Windham wrestled its best meet of the season and rolled past Milford, 57-24. Riley Millette, Michael Furey and Victor Pizzotti all had pins in the first period for the Jaguars (15-9-1, 8-0 in D2).

Pinkerton's Robbie Fahey prevailed 7-5 in overtime to take firt at 120 at the Capital Classic in Concord and Windham's Mike Tanguay took top honors at 195 to highlight the local wrestlers.

Windham's wrestling team routed Winnacunner 51-6 to remain unbeaten in Division 2. Ben Wentworth had a big pin at 152 and heavyweight Mike Furey capped the night with a pin.

Mike Tanguay was 3-0 with three pins as Windham won twice in a quad-meet, losing to Winchester, niping Acton-Boxboro (36-35) and defeating Wesley, R.I.

Trailing 33-30 with two matches remaining, Conner Sills took a 7-0 decision at 106 and brother Payton Sills had a second period pin to provide Windham with a 39-33 victory over Merrimack. 

Lawrence's wrestling team swept Framingham, Westford and Windham to improve to 11-3. Heavyweight Stanley Alberto remained unbeaten and 113-pounder Mike Hernandez had a big 5-3 decision over Lowell Holiday placer Riley Millette of Windham.
