Flashing the leather

Sophomore shortstop David Carbonello made a diving backhand stop to throw out a runner at first base in the third inning, then classmate Kellin Bail did the same at third base a couple of batters later, helping Windham down Manchester West, 11-4. Jeff Peterson lashed a two-run triple to right-center field at Gill Stadium while fellow juniors Adam Dolan and Josh Gallagher had two RBIs each.

In a tuneup for tomorrow's baseball rematch against Goffstown — the only team to defeat Windham so far — the Jaguars humbled Milford, 14-4. Junior Josh Gallagher, a first-year varsity player, rapped a pair of two-run doubles and added a run-scoring single while captain Matt Carbonello used three hits to drive in four runs.

Windham's volleyball team beat Souhegan fior the first time in its history in three games. Dan Rouseau had 13 kills and three blocks for the Jaguars (8-2) and Tucker Lippold had 23 assists.
