Burke wins MVC Diving championship

Central Catholic's Cecelia Burke took the top prize at the MVC Diving Championships, scoring a 455.50 to edge out Haverhill's Megan Carroll (432.45) for first place. Other top finishers included Carroll in second, Andover's Sydney Ho (427.95) in third, Andover's Maddie Quill (387.90) in fourth and North Andover's Alison DelMarco (368.45) in fifth.

HAVERHILL — The Central Catholic swim team handed Haverhill its second loss of the year, posting a 102-84 win over the Hillies.

The Raiders improved to 9-2 and the hosts fell to 8-2.

Down to the wire

Haverhill swimming trailed Chelmsford by two points going into the last event, but captured first and third in the 400-meter freestyle relay to pull out the 94-92 win. Taylor Waligora, Callie Coady, Katelyn Quinlan and Meaghan Driscoll took first in the decisive race with a time of 3:58.27.
