Pelham's Becker takes Division 3 state title

Pelham placed four wrestlers at the New Hampshire Division 3 meet at Campbell, led by 106-pounder Alex Becker. Winning his first-ever tournament, he improved his record to 26-15.

Also placing for the Pythons were 126-pound runner-up Matt Koch, while both Zach Koch (132) and Chase Crawford (152) both took thirds.

Senior Matt Koch won his first tournament title, at 126, and younger brother Zach was the winner at 132 — his second tourney title of the year — to lead Pelham to third place overall at the Pelham Tournament. Alex becker was second at 106 for the Pythons.

Londonderry in second

 

Londonderry, with five quarterfinalists, stands in second place after the first day of the George Bossi Lowell Holiday Tournament.

Defending champion Mt. Anthony, with eight quarterfinalists, leads with 124 points, followed by the Lancers at 108 with Springfield Central third at 101. Timberlane, with four quarterfinalists, is sixth with 88 points.

Boisvert in prime form

 

Whittier Tech senior Xavier Boisvert had all first period pins Saturday to cruise to the 145-pound title at the Tyngsboto Tournament. Also for the Wildcats, Gavin Henderson was second at 152 and Zack Zullo — in his first meet in more than a year due to injury — was second at 182.

Londonderry wins title

 

Londonderry placed nine in the finals and had five champions in a convincing victory at the Alvirne Tournament.

Joining four veterans with a gold medal was freshman 113-pounder Craig Santos, who had a pin in the finals. Other champs were defending New England champ Jean-Luc Lemieux (138), Jake Barr (152), Kyle Byrd (160) and Richard Bilodeau (195).
