Pelham threw a scare into unbeaten Pembroke in the Division 2 quarterfinals last night before falling, 47-35. The Pythons were tied at halftime, 21-21, and only trailed by one point eafter three but they could only score four points in the fourtth quarter. Jake Vaiknoras scored 15 points in a losing cause.

Junior guard Ryan Frank scored 15 points as No. 8-seeded Pelham won 44-36 over ninth-seeded Plymouth in a Division 2 first round boys basketball game.

Joe Slattery chipped in nine points and  Jake Vaiknoras added seven points. 

Jake Vaiknoras scored a career-high 32 points, including the go-ahead jumper with just over a minute left to lead Pelham to a 75-68 win over pesky Milford. It was Vaiknoras' fourth game of at least 28 points this season.

Pelham kept its drive alive for a home playoff date alive with a 56-22 dispatching of Plymouth. Jake Vaiknoras and Keith Brown tossed in 20 apiece for the winners.

Jake Vaiknoras poured in a career-high 30 points to power Pelham to a 57-46 win over ConVal.

Jake Vaiknoras and Keith Brown combined for 43 points but Pelham boys basketball lost 58-49 to John Stark.

Brown led Pelham with 24 points, including netting six 3-pointers. 

Pelham boys basketball was down by 10 points in the second half but Jake Vaiknoras netted 16 of his 26 points in the second half to lead Pythons 56-54 over St. Thomas Aquinas, which missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Alex Newton snapped a 40-40 tie on an offensive rebound hoop with 1.8 seconds left to propel Pelham to a 43-40 win over Haverhill in the IAABO 95 Lowell Spinners tourney. Jake Vaiknoras led all scorers with 21 points. Saul Phiri had 12 for Hillies.
