Moro, Indians work overtime

Marissa Moro hit a 22-footer with eight seconds left in overtime and Sanborn dominated the second OT to stun Hopkinton, 49-44. Moro finished with a season 21 points and six 3-pointers. The Indians (8-14, 5-13 Class M) didn't make the tourney but ended the season with three wins.

Super finish

Samborn's boys basketball team won its second game of the season in thrilling fashion. Alex Bockus hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime before the Indians prevailed with a 62-61 victory over Raymond. Chris Daigle had a huge game with 17 points and 15 rebounds, Bockus added 14 points and Garrett Cristaldi chipped in with 13 points.

A defensive struggle forced a low-scoring game into overtime, but three empty possessions to start the extra session eventually did in Sanborn in a 31-29 loss to Hillsboro-Deering. Marissa Moro led the Indians with 10 points.

Sanborn Fosters victory

Nicole Foster's layup with under a minute left gave Sanborn a five-point lead and eventually a 36-33 victory over Raymond. Cara Carter (team-high 13 points) and Marissa Moro (8 points) battled all 32 minutes and played hard wire-to-wire for the Indians.
