Phillips Academy won the first game but then dropped three straight to Hotchkiss in the New England prep Class A semifinals. The Big Blue finished its season at 11-2 while Hotchkiss fell to Choate in the finals.

No. 2 Phillips opened the NEPSAC Class A tourney in style, pounding St. Paul's 25-11, 25-16, 25-12. Viola Rothschild notched a team-high seven kills, 18 service points and 16 digs, while Melissa Yan added 18 assists and Sarah Onrato had seven aces for the winners.

Katy Svec of Andover played one of her best matches of the season and she picked the right time, a big 3-0 win over archrival Exeter. The senior defensive specialist had a team high 22 digs.

 Led by Katelyn Demers, the Northern Essex volleyball team whipped Hesser College 25-25, 25-14, 25-13. Demers had 15 assists, 5 service aces and 4 kills. Karina Lopez contributed8 kills and 2 aces and Ashley Eason had 7 kills and 6 digs.

"The player of the day was the team" according to head coach Clyfe Beckwith as Phillips took the nightcap of a tri-match at Northfield Mt. Herman, defeating Taft, 2-0. Katy Scec kept the offense going with 26 digs for the Big Blue (4-0).

Senior middle hitter Meghan McCafferty owned the net and the service line in Phillips' 3-0 shutout of host Northfield Mt. Herman. The co-captain led the Big Blue with nine kills, 16 service points and 10 aces.
