Offensive Blue Devils advance

The Salem Blue Devils had "Our best offensive game of the year", said coach Dan Young. Beating Exeter 3 games to 1 in a highly competitive game. "Earlier in the year we won 3 games to 2", Young said,"I knew going in it would be a hard fought."  Salem's season high was 14 kills, last night they had 18 kills from Nicole Boucher, 16 Kills from Melissa Ouellet and 13 kills from Courtney Wright. Sarah Scott had a season high 49 assists. Salem moves on to play Pinkerton, saturday at 6 p.m.

Taylor Hough was tough at serving, garnering 10 aces and 19 service points in Pinkerton's 3-1 victory over Exeter. Brooke Gardner held down the right outside hitter's spot well for the Astros (8-3), who rebounded from a first-game defeat to cruise to the win.

Marathon win for Devils

Salem's volleyball team scored at least 25 points in the first four games, but it lost two of those, 27-25, and needed a fifth game to edge Exeter 3-2. Melissa Ouellet led Salem with 17 kills and 11 blocks and Steph Long had 17 service points.
