PLAISTOW – Through the first four games of the season, Eddie DiGiulio had taken almost twice as many handoffs as anybody else on the Timberlane roster. Friday night, however, he spent much of the first half leading the way for others.

SALEM – Returning home one week after being shutout at Bedford, Salem showed signs of improvement Friday night.

The Blue Devils snapped a seven-quarter scoreless streak with a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown passes. And a physical David Jacques ran for a season-high 144 yards.

Nick Grzejka scored his first career varsity goal and Sam Husson, Jack Runde and Brady Mahoney anchored a strong defensive performance as Windham opened its season by beating Exeter 3-0.

Windham scored six runs in the first, added a crucial score in the third before fending off Exeter for a 7-5 win. Cole Constantine drove in a pair and earned the pitching victory with three innings of relief. John Haga delivered a key two-run double in the first. Mason Rice threw two and a third innings for the save.

BEDFORD, N.H. — Though the disappointment on her face was clear, Windham star Amy Lanouette mustered a smile as she reflected on her field hockey career.

The Windham (10-7) girls basketball team outlasted a tough Exeter squad in overtime 58-49. The Jaguars hit some late free throws in OT from Chloe Weeks and Meghan Husson, who combined for 28 points in the win. Bree Amari added 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Jags.

Elizabeth Lavoie led Pinkerton girls basketball with 26 points as the Astros beat Exeter 77-67. Kristina Packowski poured in 21 points as well, and Avah Ingalls and Sydney Gerossie had 15 points each to round out the scoring.

Timberlane wrestling won its 200th straight meet in New Hampshire, rolling past Exeter 48-12. Jacob Andrade (145 pounds) scored a pin in 1:05 and Konrad Parker (152 pounds) had a pin in 1:25 to lead the Owls. 

Ryan O'Rourke scored a pin in 3:53 to improve to 7-0 on the season and lead Salem to a 72-3 win over Exeter. Jariel Hernandez added a pin in 0:38 and Matteo Mustapha improved to 6-0 with a 10-4 decision.
