On a night where both teams showed its best and worst sides, Shawsheen pulled its game together when it counted most, pulling away for a 3-2 victory over Presentation of Mary Academy, winning the decisive game, 15-4. On what Panther head coach Len Eddy termed "a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde night," Francely Acosta and Kate St. Peter (16 kills and 7 blocks) did a fine job controlling the net.

Kirmelewicz key for Rams

Chelsea Kirmelewicz was everything for Fellowship Christian, who won an early battle of volleyball unbeatens by sweeping past Shawsheen, 3-0. The senior led the Rams with 10 kills and 2 blocks while also pitching in 8 service poins and 6 aces. Strong net play and defense from Angie Tran and Bethany Dyer paid dividends as well for Fellowship (3-0).
