Knights roll Whittier

Ryan Sifferlen finished a home run short of the cycle as North Andover pounded Whittier 13-2. North Andover scored in the first five innings including a big five-run fifth inning that put the game out of reach.

Sweet 17

Both Whittier and Andover rolled to 17-0 victories over Greater Lawrence and Methuen respectively. Starring for the Wildcats, Damian Colman drove in five runs thanks to a 2-for-3 day at the plate and Tyler Baker allowed just one hit while fanning seven. For the Warriors, John Farrell struck out 12 and gave up just three hits while John Hennessy (2 for 4) drove in three and also scored three times.

Ryan almost perfect

In one of the better pitcher's duels of the season, Dillon Ryan and Whittier stole the show in a big 3-0 win over Shawsheen Valley. Ryan, who was perfect through 6 2/3 innings before giving up a double and walking a batter in successive at bats, fanned 11 to pick up his fourth win of the year. Jonathan Tannian provided the bulk of the offense with a huge one-out, two-run blast in the Wildcats' three-run sixth inning.

Whittier blows out O'Bryant to qualify for states

Ten runs in the first two innings propelled Whittier past O'Bryant 14-3. Sophomore Brandon Martinez's two-out, two-run double in the first started the Whittier attack. Dennis Asselin pitched five quality innings for the Wildcats. With the win Whittier qualifys for the state tournament.

Dillion Ryan tallied two hits and two RBI, and pitched seven innings of 11-strikeout ball as Whittier topped Greater Lowell, 4-0. Ryan allowed just four hits and he didn't give up a run.

Dillon Ryan tallied 14 strikeouts in seven innings of work to help Whittier beat Shawsheen, 9-6. Ryan helped his own cause with a hit and an RBI, while both Steve Clark and Jonathan Tannian had two hits and two RBI apiece.

Rally Cats

Whittier pushed across three runs in the top of the seventh to rally past Mystic Valley, 3-2. Steve Surette was hit by a pitch and scored on a Bill Lafferty double. Steve Clark walked but Lafferty was thrown out on a passed ball. Damian Colman smashed a deep triple to bring in Clark. Nate Allen singled in what proved to be the winning run.
