PLYMOUTH, N.H. — A shaky start can almost be forgiven if one’s starting lineup features three freshmen and four sophomores.

Especially in the Class M state semifinals.

But sixth-seeded Campbell’s play under pressure belied its age.

Sanborn's softball team is back in the Class M semifinals and they're back with a vengeance.

The Indians (18-1) advanced to the semiifinals for the first time since 2006, but the third time in five years, with a convincing 6-1 quarterfinal win over Conant. They'll face Campbell Tuesday in the semifinals at Plymouth State at 7 p.m. Sanborn beat Campbell during the regular season.

Morgan Farmer had a two-run home run in the bottom of the first and Sanborn, which lost in the first round last year, never looked back in a 6-0 win over Hillsboro-Deering in a Class M opener. Krissi Romano had seven strikeouts while throwing a three-hitter for the Indians (17-1). The second-seeded Indians move on to host Saturday at 4 p.m.

Krissi Romano had a pair of triples to lead Sanborn's 12-hit attack during a 14-1 rout of Conant. Romano's first three-base hit scored two during a four-run first.

Sanborn's softball team (12-1) avenged its only loss of the season with an impressive 7-2 win over Campbell. Eagle-Tribune All-Star Morgan Farmer (3 for 3) led the way with a single, RBI-double and three-run home run and winning pitcher Krissy Romano was 2 for 3 with an RBI while throwing a four-hitter.

Returning Eagle-Tribune All-Star Morgan Farmer slammed three triples and knocked in four runs in a 9-0 Sanborn rout of Epping. Lydia Colbert threw a three-hitter for the win for the Indians, striking out 10.

Sanborn junior Stacie Blades threw a five-inning no-hitter, striking out seven and walking just one as surging Sanborn (9-1) won its sixth srtraight game, 12-0 over Raymond. Blades also had a two-run double in the first and drove in three runs.

Farmer pounded a 230-foot solo shot and added an RBI single for the Indians (8-1). Krissi Romano threw an impressive five-hitter with six strikeouts to pick up the victory.
