G'Town sets new standard

Georgetown won its school-record 15th game, surviving a tough Senior Night start to fell Rockport, 57-45. Kyle McKay got the Royals off and running with a 3-pointer to start the second half, and defensive pressure from Julio Colon (16 points and 18 rebounds), Mike Messman (10 boards) and Chris Esposito helped to extend the lead. Jaymie Spears also had 16 in the win.

Georgetown 57, Rockport 45

The Georgetown Royals (15-3) recorded a win over Rockport, 57-45, and extended their school record with their 15th win of the season. Jaymie Spears (16 points), Julio Colon (16 points, 18 rebounds), Mike Messman (7 points, 10 rebounds), Joe Esposito (8 points), and Chris Esposito (5 points, 4 rebounds) all played well in the win.

Rockport 51, Triton 36

One quarter made a huge difference in a matchup of two Vikings' teams, as Rockport outscored Triton 23-1 in the second quarter and won by a comfortable margin,  51-36.

However, Vikings' coach Ryan Souliotis said Triton worked really hard in the second half and Bert Comins (7 points) was a real spark plug for the team. Sam Ferrara led the Vikes with 10 points.

Third Quarter Blowout

Up by two at halftime, the North Andover boys basketball team caught on fire in the third  scoring 26 points in the eight-minute quarter against Rockpoint in its 62-35 win. However even more impressive than its scoring was its defense, which held the Vikings to zero points throughout the frame.
