Indians win in OT


Sanborn's boys won a thriller, defeating Coe-Brown 72-67 in overtime in the Division 2 quarterfinals to advance to Wednesday's quarterfinals. Sophomore Jared Khalil had his second big tourney game, leading the way with 22 points, but Jason Allen was huge with 16 points and clinched the win with two free throws with 26 seconds left in OT. Dylan Khalil chipped in with 14 points.

Khalil brothers lead


Jared Khalil had 17 points and brother Dylan Khalil added 15, with both sinking three 3-pointers, as Sanborn defeated Oyster River 66-62 in the first round of the Division 2 tournament. A strong 20-point third quarter made the difference for Sanborn, which had four players in double figures and will advance to Saturday's quarterfinals.

Bounce-back win


Pelham's boys (13-1) avenged their only loss with a 63-56 win over Sanborn. The Pythons were led by Jake Dumont who stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals to lead the Pythons.  Sophomore Jake Cawthron had a career-high 10 points to go along with 8 rebounds.

Dylan Khalil had 28 points and went over 1,000 points for his career and brother Jared Khalil added 21 as Sanborn handed Pelham its first loss of the season, 74-58.

The Pythons, who graduated six seniors including Eagle-Tribune All-Stars Drew Brown and Derek Crowley from last year's 17-5 squad, improved to 5-0 with a 59-57 victory.
