Lindsay Cullen placed fourth (17:15) for the Clippers (5-4). Kim Martins finished sixth (17:51). Megan Clarke placed ninth (18:18).

"Hamilto-Wenham is one of the best teams in the state," Newburyport coach Don Hennigar said. "We're improving every meet, and our big meet is at the end of the year, so we should be in good shape."

Alanna Poretta placed first (18:48) at Pipestave Course. She held off Emily Lanois (19:09) of Hamilton-Wenham — one of the top runners in the state. April O'Brien (19:44) placed fifth. Amy Babeau (20:42) finished seventh. Caroline Babeau (22:14) finished 13th.

North Andover's Kirsten Kasper set a course record at Ipswich by nearly a minute in a 25-32 loss to powerful Hamilton-Wenham. Kasper ran 18:31 for 3.1 miles, far ahead of sisters Allison and Emily Lanois, who finished second and third. Karissa Mako was fourth for the Knights, who shut out Ipswich 15-50.

North Reading couldn’t keep pace with strong Hamilton-Wenham (17-46) and Triton (21-34) squads and fell to 0-3 on the year. Kristen Moulton finished sixth for the Hornets and Caroline McBride was 13th.
