DURHAM, N.H. — J.J. King, who has oinly done track for two years, won the javelin at the 73rd annual New England Championships at UNH's Reggie Atkins Track.
The senior, who is a UNH recruit, threw 189-4. The 6-4, 215-pounder's third of six throws was the big one. It was just off his modern school record of 190-5. Rhode Island freshman Ian Hall was runner-up with a 185-2 throw. Pinkerton senior Noah Woodman took second in the 400 (49.05) and anchored the Astros' eighth-place 4x400 relay. That quartet, which also included Jadyn Ruimwijk, Adam Spencer and Pat Hanlon, was clocked in 3:27.89.

Andover’s Alec Pascoe won the 400 hurdles in 54.48, breaking the EMass. Division 1 meet record of 54.61 set by Chris Pullerits of Acton-Boxboro in 2010. It was just short of the Andover High record (54.33) set by former Eagle-Tribune MVP Sean Caveney in 2015.
