With the bases loaded and two outs in the sixth, and Whittier leading by one, Cam Camasso came in to pitch the Wildcats out of that jam then throw a perfect seventh to lock down a 4-3 victory over Bishop Fenwick. Corey Greaney knocked in a key run, singling home John Moody in the fourth.

Whittier beat Lowell Catholic, 8-6. Will Carpenter threw the complete-game win and broke the game open with a bases-clearing double in the 7-run fifth inning.

Whittier (13-1) scored twice in the top of the seventh to beat Mystic Valley 4-3. Cam Cammaso (6 Ks, 0 runs, 4 innings) got the win in relief and tripled in the tying run. Adam Marino scored the winner on a passed ball.

Scottie Neenan allowed just four hits in a complete-game effort and Ryan Goudreault drove in what proved to be the winning run in the sixth as Whittier dealt Shawsheen just its third loss of the season, 4-3.

Camasso closes door

Essex Tech scored once in the bottom of the seventh and had the winning run on second with one out. But Whittier reliever Cam Camasso came on for the final two outs. Berto Rodriguez got the first one with a terrific running catch in centerfield to save the game. The Cats (11-0) remain unbeaten.

Whittier baseball wins 16-inning thriller

With runners at first and second in the top of the 16th inning, Scott Neenan singled to give Whittier the lead. Then with a runner at third in the bottom of the inning, catcher John Moody fired a throw to Cam Camasso for a pick-off that ended a 5-4 Wildcats victory over St. Mary's.

Whittier baseball kept rolling Tuesday when Cam Camasso (2 for 3) belted a two-run home run in bottom of the fifth to help the Wildcats stay perfect (6-0) and beat Essex Tech 3-2.
