With runners at first and second in the top of the 16th inning, Scott Neenan singled to give Whittier the lead. Then with a runner at third in the bottom of the inning, catcher John Moody fired a throw to Cam Camasso for a pick-off that ended a 5-4 Wildcats victory over St. Mary's.
Adam Marino send the game into extra innings with an RBI single to tie the game in the sixth. Neenan also pitched 10 innings, while Corey Greaney worked five innings for the victory and Will Carpenter picked up the save in the 16th.
