Royals whip Lowell Catholic to improve to 2-0

GEORGETOWN — Forty points in the opener was good enough for a lopsided win and 40 Friday night was good for another easy win.
Georgetown rolled to a 40-16 win over Lowell Catholic to improve to 2-0.
"The guys are executing," said Georgetown skipper Eric McCarthy. "I think the offensive line is setting the tone and it's really anchored by guys who worked very hard in the off season. They were creating big holes, and Mark Mansfield had a big night running the ball."
Mansfield powered the Georgetown offense with a few touchdown runs while Jimmy Sherman snagged a pair of touchdown catches from junior signal caller Tommy Long, who also threw a TD to John Lavina.
"So far we're pretty stout on both sides of the ball," said McCarthy. "We've got to keep pushing forward."
Lowell Catholic fell to 1-1.
The Royals are at Lynn Tech next Saturday.
